Ogni lama viene ispezionata, oliata e imballata con discrezione — il cartone non rivela mai la spada che contiene.

Yougan (溶岩) means molten lava — and the blade earns the name in the polish. Light pours down a mirror-bright manganese-steel blade like a thread of fire, the modern, liquid finish set against a red lacquered saya. It is a sword that reads as elemental on the rack and disciplined in the hand, made for connoisseurs of traditional Japanese blades and serious martial-arts practitioners alike.

Forging & Steel

The blade is forged from manganese steel and brought to a mirror polish. Manganese steel is durable and holds a keen edge, and the high polish gives it a clean, contemporary character while revealing the geometry of the blade — the line of the shinogi and the curve of the kissaki read clearly under good light. The finish also makes flaws easy to spot, which is its own kind of honesty in a working sword. It is built to be drawn, cut and maintained over a long practising life.

Fittings

A carved-iron tsuba sits at the collar, its mass acting as a counterweight that aids balance and maneuverability. The saya is red lacquered wood with a dark-blue sageo, and the tsuka is bound over genuine white shagreen with copper menuki. Two bamboo mekugi pin the full tang for traditional disassembly and care.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The mirror-polished manganese blade is sharpened and functional, and at 1.2 kg with a carved-iron tsuba counterweight it is balanced for iaido or kenjutsu practice. The light weight makes it quick to draw and easy to control through repeated forms. Keep the polished surface wiped and lightly oiled to hold the shine.
